ecobiological now certified by FPA (Australia) to provide Bushfire Planning and Design services

Dan Pedersen has recently completed the Bushfire Planning and Design (BPAD) course run by the Fire Protection Association (FPA) Australia.

The FPA is Australia’s major technical and educational fire safety organisation aiming to achieve continual improvement in fire safety through active membership and a range of activities.

Dan is now a BPAD-A Certified Practitioner and ecobiological has also become an FPA certified business. The FPA Certified Practitioner and Certified Business Program have been developed for individuals and businesses delivering BPAD services. It identifies practitioners and business entities that meet criteria based on competency requirements, the planning, development and/or building legislation of the relevant state or territory, and the Building Code of Australia, incorporating AS 3959 Construction of buildings in bushfire prone areas.

Currently, this is the only program available to benchmark practitioners and businesses providing these services. Certification provides formal acknowledgement by FPA Australia that the practitioner or business meets the criteria of the Certification Program, and an opportunity to be recognised by industry, regulators, fire services, end-users and the community as providers of professional BPAD services.
